Maximum Aerodynamic Efficiency
Contributing further to an amazingly efficient and ultra-competitive wheel is the new aerodynamic profile that reduces the effort necessary to overcome drag while also conferring a higher degree of stability. While the lowest profiles don’t compare with deeper rims in terms of drag reduction, a low-profile rim can be designed to be more aerodynamic and efficient. Designed using the Reynolds RAV design philosophy, the new DET 2 profile represents the most complete and functional aerodynamic solution at all depths in the Reynolds line.
REYNOLDS AERO VERSATILITY: Not All Aero is Created Equal
Reynolds Aero Versatility, or RAV, considers the real-world usage of a wheel and develops a solution that gives the rider not only advantages in the form of aerodynamic efficiency from the wide range of wind angles he or she will encounter on the road, but also the highest degree of stability possible at any given rim depth. Added stability improves control and as a result allows for the rider to maintain an aerodynamic position more safely, comfortably, and for longer…translating into better performance.
OPTIMIZED FOR MODERN TIRES
While the attention towards stiffness of the unit makes for a more efficient ride, the 21mm hooked tubeless channel allows for further efficiencies in addition to comfort. The wider, tubeless channel is designed to offer a superior tire fit and compatibility with contemporary tire designs, optimized for 28mm tires. Such compatibility allows for not only comfort but lower rolling resistance thanks for larger tires run at comparably lower pressures and the hooked design allows for a greater tire pressure range and is compatible with any tubeless tire.
